So here are the video highlights of Taiwan. I've got just a few videos so enjoy!

The elevator ride in the 85 Tower in Kaohsiung. It went sooooooooooo fast!

One of the musical garbage trucks that are in Taiwan.

One of the stages during the Lantern Festival in Taiwan. Their stage is floating on the Love river.

One of my students clapping during game day.

One of the food making machines in the Liouhe Night Market.

The firework show during the Lantern Festival. I am standing on a bridge that crosses the Love River.

During my last day at work Michelle stole my camera and took a bunch of pictures of the office. So here are the pictures of the place where I worked for seven months:

Well I'm no longer in Taiwan now but this community will still remain active for a little while longer. I want to do a video highlights post, a post about work, and a picture entry showing the highlights of my stay in Taiwan.

[Current Music |Postal Service - Such Great Heights]

Well today Kim picked me up at 10:20 so that we could go to a church service and then to Cheng Ching lake. The church service lasted a bit longer than we expected but we still made it to the lake by around 2pm. We walked around the lake for a few hours and finally headed back a little after 5pm. I took a lot of pictures but I don't have the energy to go through them all and upload them now. At 6:30pm I went over to Michelle's and ate dinner with her family. I was there until about 9pm. Afterwards I walked through the park, snagged a few photos of the MRT, and then went to the nightmarket to try to find a gift for family friends. I failed to find a gift but the pictures of the MRT came out ok. I got back to my apartment about 10:30pm. Here are the pictures I took of the MRT:

[Current Music |Nickelback - Fight for All the Wrong Reasons]

I taught A2-25 for the last time on Friday as well and it was also my last class that I had to teach. I got a stronger reaction from them than I was expecting when I told them I was leaving but I guess I should be too surprised since I'm the only foreign teacher they've known. I managed to get a few pictures of them.

[Current Music |Yellowcard - Waiting Game]

On Friday I said goodbye to my K6-372 class. It was such an odd class. The girls were very shy and the boys and girls absolutely refused to interact with one another. You can kind of tell from the pictures:

Group photo of K6-372: In the back row there is Tera, Tammy, Allie, Jackie, Andrew, and Jeff. In the middle row there is Joanne, Shannon, me, and Jim. In the front row there is Sharon, June, Simon, Henry, and Jacky. I act more as less as a divider between the girls and the boys.

[Current Music |New Found Glory - Hold My Hand]

One of the very unique things about Taiwan is how they do their garbage. Like most places they have their garbage trucks but there garbage trucks are special: they are musical. The way it works is that these musical garbage trucks make their rounds a couple times each day and people walk up to the trucks and deposit their garbage. The first time a foreigner hears one of these trucks in most cases their initial though is 'ice cream truck' unfortunately that could not be farther from the truth. The musical trucks amuse me although I have never actually successfully used one. It just not appealing to me to wait along a street corner holding a bag of garbage.

Belated Goodbye To M2-47 [Mar. 28th, 2008|12:16 pm]

[Current Music |Nickelback - Flat on the Floor]

I teach M2-47 on Mondays but I couldn't figure out how to tell them that I was leaving so I asked Venetia to tell them on Thursday when she teaches them so we could take a picture during the break. They are really cute and their classroom is right next to the classroom I teach in so it worked pretty well. Peggy and Wayne missed out on the group picture but I managed to get pictures of them after it.
